Harborne Lane Nursing Home is a well established, family-run home. We aim to provide a person centred approach in caring for each resident, ensuring their personal, medical and social needs are met at all times.
The residence has been carefully designed to offer modern facilities whilst maintaining the comforts of resident’s own homes. Aside from the fully equipped and spacious en-suite bedrooms, we offer several comfortable communal areas and beautifully landscaped surroundings, with a small brook running alongside the property.
Our Home is owned by Mr Grant & Mr Walsh. Mr Gary Grant oversees the running of the home. Gary makes regular visits to the home and provides advice and support.
The Home Manager is Mrs Alison Mulligan who is an experienced registered nurse. Alison runs the home on a daily basis.
Meaningful and purposeful engagement is of great importance when considering quality of life. Alison undertakes the organisation of the social events. Alison puts great emphasis on the meal time experience and all food is prepared here in our five star rated kitchen and can be served at dining tables in our dining rooms.
Alison is supported by a team of registered nurses who are responsible for the day to day care over a twenty four hour period. All of our trained staff have considerable experience and offer specialist roles in areas such as Wound Care, Dementia Care, Palliative and End of Life Care.
Our team of health care assistants are friendly, caring and enjoy working at Harborne Lane and most of them have been at the home for many years. They help to create the homely atmosphere whilst ensuring that all residents receive the appropriate care. All staff undergo training as part of their employment on an ongoing basis to ensure that they continue to provide the level of service. The majority of staff have NVQ two as minimum and many have achieved a level three qualification.
The catering team produce an excellent variety of home cooked food with the menu changing in accordance with the season. Each day the residents are offered a choice from the menu. Specialist dietary requirements are readily catered for. Light choices are available at any time of day or night. Room service is available as required by the resident.
We also have a great housekeeping team which includes our, laundry assistants, maintenance man and gardener who all work hard to ensure there is a clean, safe and tidy environment throughout the home.
Staff encourage residents to take part in various activities, hobbies and interests, enabling them to be as lively or as quiet as they wish. Under normal circumstances additional services such as chiropody and physiotherapy can be arranged as well as visits from opticians, hairstylists and dentists.
